About

Achieving downstream OPEX through decarbonization, digitalization.

The downstream industry in the post pandemic era has been more uneven and complicated by wars, geopolitical conflicts, and weakening global demand. As the world is getting warmer, and extreme weather events become more frequent, decarbonization has never become so important for policy makers and industry players. Moreover, with the significant supply over-capacity, downstream players also find themselves in a challenging situation to keep afloat while meeting their decarbonization goals. So, how can you emerge from the current downturn more competitive and more resilient? How to navigate the ever-changing regulatory landscape of the climate change?

To answer these questions, the 2nd Downstream Thailand Summit 2025 is coming back to Bangkok, Thailand on 5 – 6 March with experts to share their insights into the industry trends and experience on topics: digitalization, operational excellence, circular chemicals, energy efficiency and electrification, low-carbon hydrogen/ammonia, (e)SAF/biofuels, carbon credits /trading, CCUS, etc.

We’d like to invite you to join us in this full-packed two days event to exchange ideas, experience and showcase your latest innovative solutions with industry peers.

We look forward to seeing you in Pattaya.

Why Thailand?

As one of the largest downstream players in the region, Thailand is well positioned to lead the region’s evolution in downstream transformation in the gloabl context of decarbonization. Key players like PTT GC, SCGC etc have already began investing heavily in digitalization in their downstream operation and decarbonization initiatives by upgrading their assets to produce lower carbon intensity fuels and chemicals.

In the meantime, Thailand is also embracing green hydrogen/ammonia, SAFs and CCUS in the hopes of achieving net-zero goals by the year 2065.

Besides, the government is consistently committed to promoting Thailand as a hub for EV production, aiming to be the number one EV manufacturing centre in the region and one of the top globally. The “30@30” target has been set since the inception of the policy, aiming for Thailand to produce EVs that will account for at least 30% of total vehicle production by 2030.
